Font missing

I have the Font Name set to AvantGarde Md BT under Text Style. When I create text using that style, it does not use the AvantGarde font. Normally I would guess that the font was not in the right file, but since it is showing up in Text Style, I don't think that's the issue. Also, I think AvantGarde is one of the standard Land f/x fonts, so I wonder if it has something to do with my installation?

It is not a Land F/X font.
How are you creating text?

Nevermind I figured it out. I had to go into text style and change to the .shx file.
