Migrating South for the Winter
As some of you have seen our previous database technology is going to be retired as of January 1, 2011. We have been slowly moving our user base to our new Database technology of choice, which is MySQL. With this database we have seen an increase in performance as well as reliability. MySQL also allows us to support Windows 64 bit, AutoCAD 64 Bit, and the possibility of Macintosh and Linux platforms in the future.
To continue with your Land F/X Technical Support this migration must be completed by January 1, 2011. The MySQL migration instructions should be relayed to your IT staff or the most computer knowledgeable person in your office. If you do need help with the migration Travis will be available on Thursday or Friday of each week.
To schedule an appointment with Travis for the MySQL migration please email support[at]landfx.com with a date and time you are available. We will confirm the appointment and call you on the specific date and time.

Hearing it Straight From You!
This month’s success story comes from Michelle Scranton with LandEscapes LLC. She has completed over 100 projects with our software.
“Land F/X has changed my entire life. Do you think that is a strong statement? I sure do!!! If you are a Landscape Architect and DON'T have this software, you are taking --at least-- five times longer to complete any project. How is that affecting your bottom line?
I ventured off and started my own Landscape Architectural firm about 7 years ago and very soon after, I purchased the Land F/X subscription. The tutorials are extraordinarily helpful and the tech support is like NOTHING I have ever experienced!
This software has enabled me to complete work in record time at highly competitive prices. It has seriously been the foundation for my success as a Landscape Architect.
I am currently working on a Low Impact Development project in Florida. As always, I received the base drawings only weeks before the deadline. (The drawings were supposed to be on my plate MONTHS before the deadline!) In the past, I would have had to delay the deadline, causing much strife in and among the team members and the client. With Land F/X, I don't even sweat the deadlines! I'm wrapping up the final irrigation pipe sizing with the click of a button and zinging these off to the printer....
THANK YOU, LAND F/X!!!!!”

Need Tech Support?
Due to the increase of incoming phone calls, we do ask before calling, that you first submit a tech ticket. The fastest way to get a response with an issue or question is to submit a technical support ticket. This will instantly be available to all support staff and will be answered promptly.
To submit a ticket, select F/X-Admin from the drop down menu, and select "Technical Support"
This will open a ticket window where you can type your issue and click Send. Please include details, error messages or any drawings that support might need to see- the more information about the issue provided, the faster they will be able to find the solution. This is the best course of action to get an issue submitted to Land F/X Support. It will guarantee all support staff gets the message at the same time which will result in faster response times.
