Proposing that additional irrigation project and valve variables/fields be added to Land F/X so that more detailed reports can be generated.
We're currently taking some information from Land F/X and entering it into a spreadsheet where we combine it with other information and run it through some standard calculations to generate runtime schedules. It would be great if the program had the ability to generate more detailed reports or allow users to develop custom reports.
At the very least it would be useful to be able to view the irrigated area (sf) of each valve so that we can use that info in our spreadsheet.
These are the variables/factors/fields we need for each project: ETo, Plant Factor (KC), Root Depth, Soil Type, MAD, Exposure Factor, Irrigation Precip Rate, Irrigation Efficiency (%), Turf Crop Coefficient.
Michael,
We currently have a wishlist item to list out total area covered by zone, starting with Drip areas and moving to other irrigation types. What you are suggesting might be better in the Runtime Schedule, where you specify Inches or Minutes, and it could instead access a web-based dialog. You would access all this information here, entering the job location, etc.
Is there a place that you think would be better suited for this, other than the Runtime Schedule? If so, where? Also, would it make sense that these be additional fields in Schematic irrigation as well?

These are all things that we will need to consider and figure out before we can add it to the system. We look forward to your thoughts and suggestions.

Jake,

You guys are currently working on everything.Your most recent irrigation improvements area awesome! https://www.landfx.com/videos/webinars/item/4069-new-irrigation-features.html

I'm thinking that if LandFX is producing this information for the run-time schedule calculator, you may as well design in that "generate MWELO calculation" button and we'll be good.

Steve,
Thank you for your kind words. You are right again! We are working on everything, so you should know that we already have this one on our list

As you also know, it is a little easier said than done to make a MWELO calculation button. Well, the button is easy to make... but what is the button going to do? Where is it going to be placed? How does it look and interact with the underlying plant and irrigation data?

There are the things that we would love to get your thoughts on since you guys will be the end user of this "button". Once we have a mock up of this feature, we can vet much faster and in turn create this very much needed tool for your use.

Jake,

My comments were tongue in cheek. I wouldn't expect a MWELO button for quite a few years. Having said that, if one appeared sooner, it wouldn't surprise me too much either.
BTW. I Jailbroke the states table so if you need it, just let me know. Or you could just create your own. Which I'm sure a tech head like you would prefer.

Enjoy your weekend.

You know I like recreating the wheel just as much as the next guy, but examples are always great to bounce ideas off of. That is how we can make a better and more efficient tool, right? Send us anything you think would be useful. Too much information is always better than not enough.
