I have F/X CAD. I am getting an Autodesk Access icon on my taskbar. Nothing happens if I click on it, but if I right click and click Autodesk Access it opens a window with Available Updates. It wants to install "Identity Manager 1.0 1.11.9 English-US 64-Bit (Windows)". If I click Update my computer asks me if I want to allow Autodesk Installer to make changes. Is this Malware or legitimate? What could this be for if Land F/X is in control of their own OEM CAD?

Thanks!

Autodesk Access is how Autodesk deploys updates to its software packages, unfortunately it's not fully compatible with F/X CAD. It's required for AutoCAD engines to properly install and allow you to sign in to your Autodesk Account for CAD, but with regards to F/X CAD you should not use it to apply any updates. F/X CAD is our AutoCAD OEM engine and is identified by Access as regular good ol AutoCAD as that's what it's based on, but it will only apply updates for regular AutoCAD.

If you update F/X CAD using Access, you will encounter errors in the software in certain situations and it will revert to looking like regular old AutoCAD instead of F/X CAD. We release our own updates for F/X CAD regularly, which you'll get a prompt for when starting the software if one is available, selecting yes on that prompt will take you to our website where you can download the update directly.
