I have two irrigation systems, each in a separate DWG and LFX f that I will combine into one. I think there are problems if you just paste components into a new file? Is there a way to combine them other than just redrafting one of them?

Thanks,
Meredith,

If you used the same Land F/X Project to create both plans, you can combine them quite easily. Your best bet would be to use the COPYCLIP and PASTECLIP commands.

If they were done with different Projects, you will need to Import the data for the various equipment. You might end up needing to just add some equipment to the current project, or using the Match Properties command to fix some items.

But start with a basic copy/paste, and then use the Edit Equipment button to make sure the pasted equipment is recognized.

This is something our office regularly does especially on drawings where there's a ton of information. We separate our drawings so that we can delegate areas so that two or more people can work on a given site. what I like to do is insert xrefs as overlays so that I can see where my partners have left off or working on, and we regularly save; then we get notifications, and we reload drawings. I also create a master base file that has both mines and my partner(s) irrigation base to be later converted into blocks then exploded to tie the two (or more) together. this works especially great if I'm working remotely and my partner is in the office. When all is done, we'll go back to the master base file, convert to block, explode, connect & size mainline.
