I am running CAD via the FXCAD interface (no separate autocad) and can't read a lot of 3d objects coming to me from civil3D. For example, survey data like trees (text and points) and spot elevations. Some clients seem to be able to export the files to be readable while others don't. Has anyone dealt with this, have a fix or know of a plugin (that won't conflict with LandFX) or otherwise know how to tell the other side what operations to perform to make it readable on my platform?

Thanks!

Jessica,

Civil3D makes everything proxy objects.  It's usually as easy as just turning on your proxy object support, but you can see the full list of solutions here:

Thanks for pointing me to the support page. I had already had show proxy objects on, but went through option 1 step by step to no avail. Option 2 - with downloaded enabler, I got partial data, but still a lot missing. I've asked the cad person on the other end to look into his settings. We'll see if that improves things, but as of this moment, I can't work on this project without the missing data.

Hi Jessica,

Yes, if you've done everything on that page, then every other time this has come up, it's always come down to PROXYGRAPHICS and PROXYSHOW not set to 1. Even when the Civil user insisted it was set, it actually wasn't.
