Is there a tool delete lateral/mainline joints? When working with poly lines, you can right click a rip to delete vertex. Often time while drafting I find that I have to straighten out laterals that have extraneous vertices. Deleting multiple segments, and then the "joiner" circle, and redrafting the segment between feels cumbersome.

That's all I have!

Thanks for such a detailed response. You definitely have a good point, and absolutely could be an option when using Delete Station to have a "Delete Fitting and Rejoin Pipe" choice. Could even possibly go with the Move Piped Equipment tools. However, now we still need to resize the pipe due to the potential that there were two different sizes on the given sections of pipe, and since the head was removed, you may need the pipe sizes to reflect the new needed sizes.

So, things need to be looked at from an additional function standpoint, and when would this function affect a fitting/ pipe area, etc.

I am happy to add it to our existing wishlist items we currently have for additional piping features, but for now it sounds like you have a few work arounds that will get you there.

Currently there is not. I would be curious as to what your piping looks like that warrants so many pipe removals. As you are piping, and you have accidentally placed pipe in the wrong location, use the Undo option to unhook back to last fitting piped.

If there is a long section of pipe with multiple segments you wish to remove, you can delete both ends where you wish to repipe to, and use Delete Station to remove multiple segments of pipe (and fittings) at the same time.

Of course, if you simply want to move your pipe segments around to be more straight, there is the Move Piped Equipment tool that moves all segments of piped equipment at the same time so you are not picking each vertex individually.

But again, if you could send us an example of what you are dealing with, we would be happy to discuss things further.

I would say that I find my self needing to make adjustments at different submittals. A change to hardscape alignment means a change to irrigation routing, or a change in planting which again means a change in irrigation.

An emitter might be branched off of the main run and now it has to be removed. (See Vertex1)

You remove the head, and the branching lateral, leaving you with vertex in middle of your lateral run, that was necessary before, but superfluous now (See Vertex2)

Now you have two options. Option 1: leave it alone, the drawing feels sloppy and if you have to make adjustments, an extra vertex will be in the way. Option 2: delete the vertex, the two segments connecting it, redraft the link between the two, and then re-size your pipe, because the newly drafted link between segments will be unisized.

I understand that the way the piping tools work allow for a much more flexibility where a polyline cant "branch", pipes make a network. However the piping tool is similar in function to working with polylines; you can move a "vertex" (move piped equipment), you can create an arc in segment, you can undo while you are drafting; but you cant delete a "vertex". It is something that I have been asked while onboarding colleagues with LFX Irrigation.

If there simply is not a way to delete a vertex, in a similar fashion to how it works with polyline that is fine, we have been getting along without it, but my point is that as a tool it behaves similar to another tool, but does not have a useful function of that tool.

Isolating a segment and using delete station is a great solution for certain situations, that I will keep that in my back pocket!
