I am working on a school project. I created a planting plan, and it was suggested to come up with another alternative. I am using a PDF of the site building layout and need to scale it.
I saved the original drawing to a new name and now the plant schedule is linked to both and is not reading the plants correctly.
How do I unlink and have two separate plant schedules. - also, my snap does not stay on.
I also would like to remove the plant labeling rather than tun off the layer.
Thank you for ay help

Carol,

Okay, it seems we have multiple issues.

First, your Snap is not staying on. We do toggle most snaps off during placing plants and labels. If you could provide more information, that would be great, as I can't tell if this is in relation to the schedule or what.

To remove plant labels rather than turning off the layer, you can use the CAD command LAYDEL to delete the layer.

Now for what I think is the core issue, how to have two variations of a planting plan. This does depend very much on what exactly is varying. If the plant list itself is going to vary, or plant sizes will be changed, then you need to make a copy of the Land F/X project itself, with the two different dwg's each referencing different projects. You can quickly make a copy of the Land F/X project by backing it up, and then restoring it to a different project number:

You also mentioned the need to scale a PDF, but I'm not sure, as that also doesn't appear related to the need to create an alternative planting plan. We do have a snappy PowerTip video on scaling a PDF:
