I have been enjoying the time savings of the polydivide tool.  However I am now having issues with it. I keep getting an error (see screenshot attached).  I have used it several times in the same drawing on different hatches and have had no problems.  Now there when trying to use the tool I get the error that the angle does not properly intersect the hatch.  I have tried using polylines that are selected as the divider as well as just using the tool to draw the desired line.

I am sure it is something that I am just missing or overlooking, but any assistance would be appreciated.

You could try copying and pasting the polyline into a completely blank drawing, to see if it works there.

Beyond that, I can't think of much.  You are always welcome to send us the drawing, so we can take a look at it.

I tried again this morning after a system restart, and also tried in a new blank drawing with the same error message.  So I sent you all the file through the support ticket submission.  If you can figure out what I am doing incorrectly to drive the error that would be appreciated so I can avoid the same issue in the future.

Update:

I did finally get a polydivide to work on one of the problematic hatches but I had to draw the dividing line at an obscure/sharp angle instead of perpendicular. Then modify the vertices of the hatched polyline to get it where I needed it. I would have thought the perpendicular or more simple angle would have been the easiest/most stable direction.

Brandon,

As discussed in your ticket (thanks for sending in the drawing!), the line that you were using to divide the polygon was set at an elevation of 1159.46. Moving that line back down to zero allowed polydivide to work.

It looks like the increased elevation caused the error "angle specified does not intersect polygon appropriately". I'll make sure an error page is put up for this.

Thanks for bringing it up!
