Happy new year to all the members in land F/X forum, wish you all the best in 2020..

would like to ask an irrigation design question, and need some help please.

can anyone tell me if we can consider the uPVC CLASS E equivalent to uPVC SCHEDULE 80 and uPVC CLASS 315 SDR 13.5  at any point when using in a villa project in the gulf region where the weather most of the year is hot humid.

I usually use uPVC SCHEDULE 80 and uPVC CLASS 315 SDR 13.5 for different ranges of diameters, and the contractor submitted the uPVC CLASS E as an eqUivalent,

I went through several articles showing differences between the three types of pipes, but need to know if we can consider the CLASS E as an equivalent to the schedule 80 and the CLASS 315 SDR 13.5..

Any informative resource will be much appreciated as well..

Thanks in advance,

Nibal

Nibal,

I left this untouched to let the masses take a stab at answering this, but it looks like all our irrigation experts (including me) are at a loss of what would be the most appropriate response.

Have you gone directly to the pipe manufacturer with this question? I would assume they would be the best ones to answer this type of pipe integrity specific question. Keep us posted with your findings!

Hi Jake,

Just yesterday i came to an exact situation with another project, and was thinking to check this post today hoping i get a reply from experts, because I need to sign some material submittal forms including the uPVC pipes CLASS "E"..

And again am still struggling to find a good comparison between the uPVC pipes schedule 80, uPVC CLASS 315 SDR 13.5 which I usually recommend to use and the uPVC CLASS "E" on the other hand..

I'll see if I can seek help from the manufacturer..

Thank you Jake..

Hi,

We have a problem with lateral pipe classes. We have added PVC-U PN16 in lateral pipe classes, but it does not appear when we draw lateral line. Instead, PVC-U class 200 appears that is not even in pipe data defaults.I have also tried adding next (new) class (again PVC-U PN16), but still it does not appear.

When we set pipe preferences everything seems fine, but when we go to a drawing and press C to change pipe class, it shows class200 instead of classPN16.
I thought iit has to do something with the preference set, changed to another preference set, but the problem remains.

We are using custom preference set, pipe classes > european metric.
Any ideas?

Thank you

Naturalist,
It sounds like your pipe data might be corrupt. Please submit the Preference Set and Project data files you are having issues with, and we can help see what might be going on.

Hi Jake, I have just sent support ticket with the same text. It would be great if you could somehow link forum messages with official support process so we do not have to explain everything twice (and you need to read and resolve it twice)...

Nemanya,
Thank you for sending in your files. Changing the classes of pipe seemed to stick for me. It looks like you are adjusting the pipe data from your Preference set and assuming that would adjust the pipe data within your given project. If you adjust the pipe data from within the Irrigation Manager, it should adjust appropriately for the given project. Adjusting from the Preference Set will ensure that when you start a new project, the pipe classes are set appropriately as a starting point.

Feel free to reach back out either in the support ticket or here for any other questions you might have.
