On some of my large projects, Verify Laterals can take 40 minutes.  I fix a few things then I have to go back and run it again.  It would be great if it could tag multiple issues at once, so I can do multiple things- place pipe hops, then find all the circular references and unpiped heads before I run it again?

Unless this shouldn't be taking so long and there is some other issue?

Thanks,

Meredith

Meredith,

Unless you have an irrigation system with more than around 150 valves; the largest I've worked on, it sounds like you have other things going on that are severely slowing down your drawings. Verify Laterals takes under 5 minutes on that file for us.

Consider using BATCHMAN and NUKE to clean up your CAD files. Those two powerful Land F/X cleanup utilities are the meat and potatoes of the commands that we use to keep our drawing files lean and mean.

If you have already used those commands and you're still having issues, consider submitting a Ticket with the file(s) attached so the Land F/X team can take a look at them.

Kindly,

Meredith,

All CadMonkey's comments are valid. I'm not sure if the isi still the case, but the program used to zoom to extents while verifying the various elements. While it may be suppressing the monitor regens now, It ,ab still be doing it in the background. If that is the case, try unloading any graphics (aerial) and topo xrefs prior to running the verify command. Also, you may want to zoom extents yourself. Sometimes an xref has an element located at 0,0 which may a significant distance from where you are actually working. This can happen accidentally when a block is misplaced at 0,0. It can also be the text that notifies the user that an xref cannot be located.

I hope that this helps.

Thanks,  I have to admit I was pretty skeptical because I do have a ton of valves, but I unloaded the xrefs and suddenly it is going so fast.  I owe you a beer!

Meredith

Beer is good. :) But your gratitude is more than enough. Glad that it helped.
