Blank Screen When Trying to Select or Open Details
Issue
You're trying to search for, select, access, or open details using either the Detail Manager or Detail Explorer, and nothing is coming up. You're just seeing a blank screen. For example, you might open a detail folder and only see the detail numbers in the area where you would normally see the individual detail titles.
Cause
This rare issue applies only when:
- You have an extremely old installation, and
- You haven't used (or even looked at) the Land F/X details
In this case, none of the details you are trying to access have their .xml data files with them. This means you haven't accessed or used them – at least not in the past three or four years.
If you open the folder containing the details, you will likely see a DWG file (the detail itself) and an SLD file (the thumbnail slide) for each detail. What you won't see is an XML file for each detail. This missing file allows you to access the detail through the Land F/X database. If it's missing, you won't be able to access the detail using Land F/X, which causes the blank screen you see when trying to access it.
Solution
To use these details, you'll need to move them to a temporary location, such as a folder on your desktop. You can then open each detail file and decide whether or not you'd like to add it to your detail library.
If so,open our Save Detail tool and choose a filing location – of course, the exact same category the detail came from is entirely acceptable – and save the detail back into the library.
