Array & Mirror – Site & Hardscape Blocks
Quick video
Once you've placed site blocks in your drawing, you can use our Array and Mirror tools to copy them and place duplicates into specific patterns.
Our Array tools are also extremely handy for creating patterns of plants and irrigation equipment.
Triangular Array
Our Triangular Array tool copies site objects into a triangular pattern. Open the Triangular Array tool:
F/X Site ribbon, Triangular Array flyout
F/X Planting ribbon, Triangular Array flyout
F/X Site menu, Triangular Array option
or type FX_TriangularArray in the Command line
The cursor will turn into a pickbox. Select the object you want to copy and array. Press Enter once you've made your selection.
In our example, we'll select the table pictured to the right.
The Copy Spacing dialog box will open.
Enter a spacing value (example: 10 feet between blocks).
Select a copy option:
- Best fit: Fit the maximum number of copied objects within the array area within the spacing you set.
- Exact: Place the copied objects within the array area at exactly the spacing you set, from center to center.
Click OK when finished.
Move the cursor outward from the selected object. A triangular array of the copied block will begin to appear, reflecting the spacing you set. The array will enlarge as you move the cursor farther outward.
Click to place the triangular array.

Mirror
With our Mirror tool, you can copy several blocks and place them in an identical pattern mirrored across an imaginary center line.
In this example, we'll place a mirrored copy of the pattern of tables pictured to the right.
Open the Mirror tool:
F/X Site ribbon, Mirror flyout
F/X Planting ribbon, Mirror flyout
F/X Site menu, Mirror option
Plant Label toolbar
Plant Copy toolbar
or type FX_Mirror in the Command line
The cursor will turn into a pickbox. Draw a window to select the objects you want to mirror. Press Enter when finished making your selection.
The Command line will prompt you to Select first point of mirror line.
Click to begin drawing the imaginary line that will become the center of your two mirrored patterns of blocks.
The Command line will prompt you to Specify second point of mirror line.
The mirror line will appear as a dashed line extending from the first point you selected. Click to set the second point.
The mirrored pattern of copied blocks will appear on the opposite side of the mirror line from the original pattern of blocks.
