Rootball Clash Detection Incorrect in Revit®
Issue
You have rootballs showing for trees in Revit while using our Planting F/X plugin and have turned on clash detection with an Interference Check, which is highlighting rootballs that are not actually clashing with other objects.
Cause
The rootball family is composed of multiple shapes, and the visibility of each shape is toggled with a parameter. Revit's Interference Check is not able to not include items just because their visibility is turned off. It includes anything within a family visible on the coarse detail level. For pot and circle/sphere rootballs, the invisible box shape will sometimes still clash depending on the rotation of the rootball.
Solution
1. Check these items and ignore them if they're not actually clashing.
2. Move the objects a little bit farther away from the clash.
