Unable to Type into Windows With Keyboard (Using Mac w/ Parallels)

Issue

You're using Parallels to run a Windows operating system (OS) on a Mac, and you are unable to type into the Windows side using your keyboard.

Cause

This issue can sometimes arise from a Parallels malfunction.

Solution

1. Open your Start menu.

 

 

Scroll down and select Windows System.

 

 

Select Run from the list of options.

 

2. The Run dialog box will open.

 

Copy and paste the following text into the Open field: C:\windows\system32\ctfmon.exe

 

Press Enter.
