Unable to Save ACAD.cuix File (Using the WSSAVE Command or Closing CAD)

Issue

You received the following error message when either running the WSSAVE command or closing CAD: Unable to save ACAD.cuix file.

In addition, any changes you've made to your AutoCAD workstation settings are not saving.

Cause

This error is the result of a corrupted or damaged Windows user profile.

Solution

You can resolve this issue by creating a new Windows profile on your computer. Use this new profile when logging in to Windows.

You should now be able to save your workspace settings without getting the error.
