Add or Remove Image Frames or Boundaries for JPEGs, PDFs, etc. (IMAGEFRAME System Variable)
Issue
You've Xrefed JPEGs, PDFs, or other images into your drawing, and you need those images to:
- Have boundaries (frames) in both your drawing and when you plot,
- Have boundaries (frames) in your drawing but not when you plot, or
- Not have boundaries (frames) at all
Solution
You can use the following system variables to control the visibilty of image frames or boundaries:
- IMAGEFRAME (for JPGs)
- PDFFRAME (for PDFs)
If you need to use the PDFFRAME variable for a PDF, make sure the layer where you placed the PDF is set to plot.
For JPGs, type IMAGEFRAME in the Command line. For PDFs, type PDFFRAME in the Command line.
Press Enter. When prompted, enter one of the following values, depending on your preference. (The values shown below apply to both the IMAGEFRAME and PDFFRAME variables.)
- Type 0 to make image frames invisible, both in your drawing and when you plot.
- Type 1 to make image frames visible, both in your drawings and when you plot.
- Type 2 to make image frames visible in your drawings but invisible when you plot.
Press Enter once you've typed a value. Image frames in your drawing and printouts should now be either visible or invisible, according to the value you entered.
