What Retired (Unsupported) Year Versions of Revit® Mean for Land F/X Users
Land F/X supports the three most recent year versions of Revit. Currently, we are able to support versions {jumi[*148]}, {jumi[*149]}, and {jumi[*150]}. Planting F/X Plugin users with any of these versions of Revit will have full access to the software, including all the latest Land F/X updates.
We are no longer able to support version 2021.
Here are a few frequently asked questions about how this support policy might affect your office if you have a Revit design in an older version of Revit that has been, or is about to be, retired from supported versions and your design team is not yet ready to upgrade the Revit model.
• What happens to an existing Planting F/X plugin installation when an edition of Revit is moved to a retired or deprecated state?
You can avoid updating Planting F/X, but we cannot guarantee how long an old, non-updated installation will continue to work with our cloud database. We also cannot provide old install files for this purpose.
When you update, Planting F/X will uninstall itself from unsupported Revit versions and only update the installations on supported versions.
• What does this mean for projects where the project lead is not ready to upgrade the Revit models to a newer version of Revit?
You would still be able to see all the plant families and everything, move around, and delete. You just wouldn't have access to any Planting F/X ribbon tools in an unsupported version. You wouldn't be able to make a new group label or update an existing one. You wouldn't be able to make a new plant schedule, but an existing one would still remain there. Groundcover spacing calculation quantities would not update in the schedule or groundcover labels if edits are made manually to a groundcover floor. However, tree and shrub quantities are dynamically linked in the schedules, as is normal in Revit, and would update.
The data would still be on your Cloud Data with Land F/X, and you would be ready to jump in and start editing data again if you ever upgrade the model to a supported version of Revit later.
• What if a user updates the Planting F/X Plugin for Revit Revit past a version supported by your retired edition of Revit?
If you still have an old .exe installation file for Planting F/X, you can uninstall Planting F/X and install that version again. Otherwise, we will not have old versions available.
Note that we do not maintain archived editions of the plugin. If you no longer have access to a copy of the .exe installation file that supports your retired edition of Revit, you will need to update the Revit platform on those systems to be able to use the Planting F/X Plugin for Revit again.
