Configure the ODBC Data Source to Use Your IP Address
Issue
You need to configure your ODBC data source to use your IP address rather than your server name.
These steps will be necessary if your office stores your licenses of our software at your IP address instead of on your office server
If you open your License Manager screen, you may see your server name designated as the Current Installation.
If your office stores your Land F/X licenses at your IP address, you should see your IP address in this location. You should not see your server name.
If this is the case, and you see your server name as the current installation, you'll need to configure your ODBC data source to use your IP address rather than your server name – a quick and easy process.
What are ODBC, MySQL, and the F/X Server? For information on how these three integral components work together to allow you to use our software, see our Definitions article.
Solution
Step 1: Open the ODBC Control Panel
The steps for opening the ODBC control panel will vary depending on your version of Windows.
1. From your Control Panel, select Administrative Tools.
2. Double-click one of the following folders:
- ODBC Data Sources (64-bit) if you have a 64-bit operating system, or
- ODBC Data Sources (32-bit) if you have a 32-bit operating system
Most operating systems are 64-bit. Don't know which type you have?
3. In the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box, select the System DSN tab.
Highlight your LandFX folder, then click Continue. The ODBC control panel will open.
You can now proceed with configuring the ODBC Data Source to use your IP address.
Did you receive a System Error 126 message when you clicked Configure? If so, follow our steps to uninstall and reinstall the MySQL Connector.

Step 2: Configure the ODBC Data Source to use your IP address
The following steps pertain to both Windows 10 and Windows 7 users.
You'll now see the MySQL Connector / ODBC Sata Source Configuration dialog box (the ODBC control panel).
Enter your IP address in the TCP/IP Server field.
Then click Test.
A window containing the text Connection Successful should open almost instantaneously.
Restart CAD. You should now be able to use Land F/X normally.
