The Feature You Are Trying to Use is on a Network Resource That is Unavailable (Installing Land F/X or F/X CAD)
Issue
When installing Land F/X or F/X CAD, you received the following error message: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
The message may also reference the temp directory on your computer.
Solution
1. Follow our steps to verify that the Windows Installer service is running.
If the Windows Installer service is already running, or you started it and are still unable to install, move on to Step 2.
2. Follow our steps to download and run the Windows Installer Troubleshooter.
If the Windows Installer Troubleshooter did not find any issues to fix, and/or you are still unable to install our software, move on to Step 3.
3. Follow our steps to edit the registry keys. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products.
Select each subfolder within this folder until you come across one with the name of the product you're trying to install listed as the ProductName in the right pane. Right-click on the subfolder in the left pane.
The example below assumes that we saw the error when attempting to install the Land F/X Server component. Land F/X Server is listed as the ProductName for the subfolder we currently have selected. In this case, you would right-click the subfolder.
4. Select Export from the menu that opens.
5. Right-click the same subfolder, and select Delete from the menu.
6. Select each subfolder within the Products folder in the registry keys, and look for others that have the product you're attempting to install listed under ProductName. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each of these subfolders.
7. Restart your your computer. You should now be able to install our software without seeing the error.
