Using Imperial Valve Sizes in a Metric Drawing
Issue
You want to use Imperial valve sizes, but your drawing is set to metric units.
For example, your plan may require using Imperial valve sizes, but you use metric sizes for items such as pipe size and length.
Solution
Converting valve callouts in an existing drawing
Valve callouts already placed in your drawing will not be converted automatically when you complete the following steps. Instead, you'll need to update them manually or by using our Size Lateral Pipe tool.
1. Open a drawing and create a new Land F/X project.
2. Use our Plot Scale tool to set your drawing units and plot scale to metric units.
3. Open the Irrigation Preferences screen and verify that your Pipe Classes and Flow and Pressure Units are set to your required metric units.
5. Type USERI1 in the Command line and press Enter.
When prompted to Enter new value for UserI1, type 25400 and press Enter.
You can now begin your design, and the system will automatically convert valve sizes to Imperial for you.
Note in the example shown to the right that the valve description shows mm, but the valve Size below is displayed in inches.
Note that valve descriptions in the Irrigation Manager will not be converted to Imperial sizes. You'll need to edit the descriptions manually.
