Lateral Pipe Running Through Middle of Spray Heads (No Background Mask)
Issue
You have lateral pipe running through the middle of one or more of your spray heads.
Cause
The symbol family you're using has been drawn with arced polylines instead of circles. Because the software is not able to read arced polylines, it's unable to find the edge of the head symbols to adjust pipe segments to meet their edges.
Solution
1. Verify which symbol family you're using by doing a block edit on one of the symbols in question, which will typically only be full nozzle symbols, quite possibly dealing with symbol family N1.
Open the Block Edit command by typing BEDIT in the Command line and pressing Enter and then selecting the symbol.
Check the name of the block in the Properties panel. In this example, the block is indeed part of the N1 symbol family.
Close the Block Editor when finished with this step.
2. Now that you know which symbol family you're looking for, navigate to its source file in your LandFX folder. In this example, we're looking for a spray symbol, so we'll navigate to the folder LandFX\Blocks\Graphics\Irrigation\spray
3. If you haven't customized any of the blocks from this symbol family, select all files in the family (in our example, N1), right-click, and select Delete from the menu.
If you've customized any of these symbols, you'll need to find out which of the blocks are having this issue. You'll then need to open all those problematic blocks files individually and fix them by removing and replacing the arced polylines. This step is necessary for customized symbol blocks because the software would otherwise replace them with the default Land F/X symbols.
4. Open our Edit Equipment tool:
F/X Irrigation ribbon, Edit Equipment button
Irrigation Piping toolbar
F/X Irrigation menu, Edit Equipment option
or type EquipInfo in the Command line
5. With Edit Equipment active, select one of the heads in your drawing that has the lateral pipe passing through it.
Click the Replace button in the Equipment Info dialog box, then select the exact same model as the head you selected.
The system will now download all needed symbols for this equipment, but they will be our default symbols with the correct linework.
6. Open the Block Editor again.
Click on the symbol with the lateral pipe running through it, then type REDEFINEBLOCK in the Command line and press Enter.
7. Click the head symbol again. The linework will update to the correct version of the symbol.
8. Close the Block Editor and select the option to save the changes to the block.
9. Repeat these steps for any other radius blocks that are causing this same issue.
To shift the pipe to the edges of the symbol, use our Move Piped Equipment tool, click on the head, then immediately right-click to drop the head back into original place. Repeat this as needed.
