Location:
Rivergate Room, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, ASLA 2025 Conference
Time:
October 10, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Description:
Now is the time to position yourself as a leading practitioner of Revit in the landscape architecture industry. If you've ever been asked whether you can produce a plan in Revit, you should be attending this bootcamp.
Geared toward all Revit skill levels, this 2-hour program will cover the basics of getting started with Revit and producing a submittable construction documentation planting plan with the help of the Planting F/X for Revit Plugin.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn how to navigate basic native tools in Revit that are essential to planting design documentation, such as views, sheets, tags, toposolids, families, visibility graphics, and view settings.
- Understand the benefits of using a plugin to minimize the Revit learning curve and reduce time spent documenting a design, and training coworkers to do the same.
- Learn how to customize a final schedule in Revit for a planting design.
Recommended Skills:
- Any skill in Revit, as well as access to Revit before and after the bootcamp.
- Some experience with coordinating plans between AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit recommended but not required.
Presenter
Amanda Marin

Amanda Marin, BLA, CSLA, is a landscape architect with many years’ experience in the private sector. There, she has provided design and project management for parks, hardscape designs, landscape plans, and sculpture projects. A 2009 graduate of the University of Guelph's BLA program, Amanda has a passion for pushing the boundaries of the landscape architecture profession's influence on the design industry through documentation standards, which naturally led her to overseeing the progression of Land F/X into Revit. Amanda's eye for efficiency now also helps other Landscape Architects develop best-practice drafting workflows that not only communicate the design intent clearly but preserve the LA's vision through the construction phase.
We'll provide everything you need!
Land F/X is hosting these workshops, and like a good host we'll handle everything you need. That includes laptops, mice, and all the necessary software. All you have to do is show up! Room capacity will exceed the number of laptops we'll have available. We want all to attend who are interested, so if you can bring your own laptop with the featured software already installed, we ask that you do so and still enjoy all our other provided goodies!

Students at past learning labs using Land F/X provided laptops.

The workshops go well with coffee!
