Wondering if there is a way to set up office standards (default) irrigation descriptions for items like piping and sleeves? In the case of sleeving for example we will typically include language in addition to the material specification requiring "...sleeves to be 2x the diameter of the contained pipe...". I know we can edit the schedule once its inserted, but as this is standard language it would be nice to have it insert this way by default. I anticipate that an irrigation plan template may be the solution, though I know there is some concern about using templates for irrigation equipment as it can lead to the importing of outdated product data. I assume this is not as great as a concern with non-manufacturer-specific items like piping?

Daniel,
All you will need to do is go into your Irrigation Preference Set, open your Pipe Data Defaults and set things there. Once you start a new project, those pipe defaults will port over to your projects pipe data and will display as such once a schedule is generated. If you need to adjust a specific project, open the Pipe Data from the Irrigation Manager and make your changes there.

Hi I have a problem when sizing mainline. Pipe data defaults were set so 50mm pipe was the samllest diamter, but during the design process I have noticed that this is too large and added 40, 32 and 25mm size. When finalz i have sized the mainline pipe it used 50mm pipe for max flow of 30l/min ? Is it possible to change pipe šreferences during the design and what should I do to come downt to 25 or 32mm pipe for such a small flow ? Thank you

Naturalist,
Is it possible you just added these smaller sizes to the Irrigation Preferences Pipe data defaults and not the pipe data for the specific project?

Remember, when sizing the design, the system looks for how your pipes are setup from the Pipe Data dialog within the Irrigation Manager. When setting up a new project, the system pulls the pipe data into the project from the Pipe data defaults from within Irrigation Preferences.

Make sure this is the case, try sizing again once the sizes are added from within the Irrigation Manager, and let us know if you are still having an issue.

Regards,
