Manual OpenDCL Installation
Issue
You need to download the latest version of the OpenDCL library.
You may have received one of the following error messages:
- The library is out of date
- The helper library is out of date
- Error: 'no function definition: dcl-form-show'
Cause
Many of our dialog boxes use a library called OpenDCL to enable special features such as a Web browser control, image viewer, and a grid control.
This library is included in our Workstation Installer, yet it's updated periodically, which may require you to install the latest version.
You might also need to install OpenDCL manually because your LandFX folder is on a shared online folder and is not keeping a local copy.
Solution
1. Close CAD.
Verify that you've closed CAD before moving on to the next step.
2. Open the Windows Control Panel, and click Uninstall a program.
3. Select OpenDCL Runtime, and click Uninstall to uninstall OpenDCL Runtime.
If OpenDCL Runtime fails to uninstall, use the Microsoft Fixit tool.
4. Download the latest library using the link below. Save the file to your desktop.
5. Once the download has completed, find the file on your desktop (or another location where you might have downloaded it, such as your Downloads folder).
Verify that CAD is closed, if you haven't done so already. The following steps won't work correctly unless CAD is closed.
6. Right-click the downloaded file, and select Install from the menu.
Error Message: The signature of this program is corrupt or invalid
If you downloaded OpenDCL using Internet Explorer, you might see a warning that The signature of this program is corrupt or invalid. If so, right-click within the area pictured below.
To complete the installation, you can then select Run anyway or Install anyway (or a similar option) from the menu that opens.
7. After the installation completes, restart your computer.
Restarting your computer at this point will allow for the proper completion of the installation process.
8. Open CAD, then open our Detail Explorer tool.
If the Detail Explorer dialog box comes up, you've installed OpenDCL successfully.
