Cloud Data is Coming for Academic Users!

Our Cloud setup is coming for academic users later this summer!

All academic licenses expire June 30. When we turn the academic system back on in August, it will all be set to Cloud Data.

Here's what else to know:

Portal login required

After installing Land F/X and opening the software, you'll be prompted to log in to the Land F/X Portal. You will need to create an account if you haven't already.

Once you're logged in, the software will normally but you will only see the projects and Preference Sets that you have created.

Shared computers

What if you need to use Land F/X on a shared computer, or perhaps a friend or classmate wants to use your computer? We'll provide the ability to log out of your account, which will keep your project data safe.

Existing users: uninstall required, and project data will need to be restored

If you had Land F/X installed this year and will have it again for the next academic year, you will need to completely uninstall the software and then reinstall it. It will reinstall with Cloud Data.

Also note that your existing project data will not be there. You can recover any of your previous projects by following our steps to restore a project.

Need to install in a lab before we switch over to cloud? No problem.

If you need to install Land F/X on several machines in a lab earlier in the summer, you can use Local Data for now. Once we switch to cloud, you can then switch each workstation to cloud by typing ENTERPRISE in the AutoCAD Command line and pressing Enter, and then selecting the Use cloud data option in the dialog box that opens.
