Unable to See Dialog Boxes (FILEDIA System Variable)

Issue

You can't see dialog boxes in CAD.

You might have tried to use an AutoCAD tool or one of our tools that requires a dialog box (such as the Plant Manager). Or you might have tried to load your menus or save a file, and were unable to do so.

Cause

The FILEDIA system variable is most likely set to 0. This system variable controls whether you can see dialog boxes in CAD.

FILEDIA should only be an issue when the Land F/X menu is not loaded. Once it loads, our startup will confirm that it is set to 1.

Solution

Type FILEDIA in the Command line and press Enter. When prompted to Enter a new value for FILEDIA, type 1 and press Enter. You should now be able to see dialog boxes in CAD and carry out the action you were attempting.
