Double-Clicking Not Working for Editing MText or Activating Viewports
Issue
You're attempting to double-click to either edit multiline text (MText) or activate viewports by double-clicking, but nothing is happening.
Cause
This issue can occur because:
- The PICKFIRST and/or DBLCLKEDIT sysyem variables are set to the incorrect values, or
- You are not double-clicking quickly enough for your computer's settings to recognize the two clicks
Solution
Step 1: Set the PICKFIRST and DBLCLKEDIT system variables to 1.
1A. Type PICKFIRST in the Command line and press Enter.
When prompted to enter a value, type 1 and press Enter again.
1B. Type DBLCLKEDIT in the Command line and press Enter.
When prompted to enter a value, type 1 and press Enter again.
Still unable to double-click to edit MText or activate a viewport? Move on to the next step.
If the system variable settings listed above do not fix your issue, your computer's mouse setting may be set too fast. Follow our steps to slow your mouse's double-click settings.Step 2 (if necessary): Slow your mouse speed in Windows.
