Unable to Change the Rotation of a Hatch
Issue
You're trying to change the rotation of a hatch pattern, but it's not working for you.
Trying to change the scale of a hatch and it's not working because the Scale option is grayed out? Here's what to do.
Cause
Our updated hatch system (updated in June 2023) does not allow users to change the Land F/X source hatch files directly. We put this safeguard in place for future additions, troubleshooting, and cleaner workflow across the board. Because we're constantly engineering updates and improvements, keeping user changes out of the LFX defaults allows for complete overhauls without the worry that users may or may not have made any changes within the default hatches.
Solution
Because we now offer so many rotation options, there really shouldn't be a reason to change the rotation from what we provide. If you really want to change the rotation, just place the hatch you wish to use and then use our Save Hatch tool.
Take care to keep the same hatch pattern name when saving the hatch, but you cannot keep the same hatch pattern description, so you'll need to create a new and unique description for the hatch.
The Save Hatch tool will create a new user-defined hatch, which you can then edit and change the rotation as needed.
The hatch will also be available to select in the Hatch dialog box, which you see when assigning or placing a hatch. If the thumbnail preview slide for that hatch doesn't look how you want it to look, take care to zoom in to the placed hatch so the pattern fills the screen before running our Save Hatch tool.
