Adding Custom Drip Emitter: No Symbols Available

Issue

You added a custom drip emitter, but you don't see any available symbols. As a result, you may be under the impression that you cannot place these emitters.

Cause

Our custom emitter symbols are downloaded on demand, meaning you won't have them on your computer until you add and place them. These symbols do not display in the Equipment Info dialog box, which you see when you add or edit irrigation equipment. We are currently in the process of engineering the symbols to appear in this dialog box so you can preview them.

Even though you cannot see the thumbnail previews of the symbols, you can still place custom emitters in your drawing.

The Land F/X blocks, including the irrigation symbols, are all stored on the Cloud rather than downloaded automatically to your computer when you install Land F/X. All blocks will now download on demand (as you select them), allowing you to place them in your drawing as normal. For more information, see our Cloud-Based Blocks documentation.

Solution

Until we have the preview capability in place, the workaround is to add and place 10 custom drip emitters. Why 10? Because we have 10 custom drip emitter symbols. The software will automatically assign a new symbol to each custom drip emitter you add.

Once you have placed 10 custom emitters in your drawing, you will be able to preview all 10 symbols. You can then use the View Data (Edit Equipment) tool to assign the symbol of your choice to your custom emitter.

Select View Data from the F/X Irrigation ribbon, or select Edit Equipment from the F/X Irrigation menu. You can then select the symbol of your choice and edit it so it represents the custom emitter you want to place.
