The Detail Explorer search feature doesn't seem to be working. When I enter a word in the search box nothing happens.

The detail explorer search will currently open up the first folder with a title matching the search term. It currently doesn't search detail titles. That's probably why it's not doing anything for your search.
We actually were recently looking at this and discussed a few possibilities to re-work it. It's on the wishlist for further development to allow the search to find all applicable folders and detail titles.
