Hello everybody,

I was wondering if any of you had experience using the Logitech Lift vertical mouse with LandFX. I just bought one for my employee and we can't get the side button customizations to take in LandFX.

For background he is using current version AutoCAD2023 on a machine running Windows 11.
We installed the Logitech Options+ (apparantly the Lift is not supported in base Logitech Options) software so we could customize the buttons, but like I mentioned up top the side button customizations won't do anything in LandFX. We like setting those to middle click so we can pan without murdering mouse wheels. When I set them to middle button in the options+ software, they will have that function in other programs like chrome or Word, but not in AutoCAD, even when I specify that application within Options+. I can change the function of the middle click and the other button which defaults to switching pointer speed and get those to work in AutoCAD, but those side buttons are stubborn.

I have a Logitech MX Vertical I use and customized with Logitech Options (base software, no plus) and it was the easiest thing in the world. Just changed the buttons in Options, moved my mouse over to AutoCAD and got to work.

Anyway, not really expecting a magical solution but if anybody has had a similar issue with this specific mouse and AutoCAD and found a way to work around it let me know.

I thought about going into the CUI but I have no idea what I'm doing there so for now I'm staying away.

Hi Michael,

While our team doesn't have any direct experience with this particular mouse or the Logi Options+ software, I did find this other post on the Autodesk forums with users citing the same problem in Fusion 360. It seems it could be a problem with the new software from Logitech, but without any experience ourselves we can't really say for sure. I'd recommend reaching out to Logitech team though and see if they have any suggestions.

Some of the team does use other Logitech mice and report various levels of success customizing the side buttons, but they did indicate not without challenges and CAD has tended to not respect those settings for them.

Bennett,

Thanks for the link, it does seem like it is likely a Logitech issue likely from their new software.

I was simultaneously reaching out to logitech when I posted this here and the support person I was talking to bumped it up to the next level of support (oh dear) so if I hear anything from them I'll share it here.

Thanks!

In case this helps anybody I found a solution!

In the Logitech Options+ software, simply assigning middle click to the side buttons isn't enough.
On the left side of the screen there is a "Point and Click" tab you can click.
In this menu the side buttons will have pop outs that read "Horizontal Scrolling: On"
Turn this to off and you can use the side buttons to pan around AutoCAD/LandFX like a dream!
