When we typically size a mainline, they start larger (6" @ the point of connect) and decrease in size as they reach the end of system. We have a looped mainline that is primarily a 4" mainline however there are some areas that go from a 4" to a 6" then back to a 4" along the looped mainline. If the mainline is looped shouldn't it be one consistent size and not transition from a small pipe to a larger pipe then back to a small pipe. This is something we would like to avoid so we are manually changing the looped main to a 6", is there a way to avoid this moving forward so we do not have to manually change the pipe size?

I have attached an image of the issue I am having. you will see at the POC a 6" mainline then it changes to a 4" then back to a 6" after the crossing. Is there a way to have the 4" size to a 6" without manually changing it?

When you size for a looped mainline, you should choose the option of the "Multiple valves operating at a time".  This will result in a consistent size around the loop.

I’m unable to tell from the image if the 2” mainline is part of a loop. It looks like it certainly could be. In which case, that would be entirely normal.
But to investigate it any further we will need the drawing. You can send it in using the Tech Support button in the software.

We are still having issues with this. Now it is happening at branches, see attached image below. The it is branching off a 2 mainline upsizing to a 3". See the circled area in the attached image.

We did select that but then adjusted the maximum multi valve flow (from 70-75 GPM) and it adjusted the mainline to be 6" like we wanted.
