Why doesn't mimic equipment work anymore when matching properties on pipe with the select>select>swipe method?

Hey Charles, Jesse with the Land F/X irrigation team here. When you're mimicking pipe data, you're not only selecting the pipe classes you want to mimic from and to, but also the sizes. So if I were to mimic 1" PVC Sch 40 to 1" PVC Sch 80, I am telling the system that I only want to swap 1" Sch 80 for 1" Sch 40. This will leave all other placed sizes of the PVC Sch 80 unchanged.

Would you like to share more about what you're trying to achieve? We could have a better workflow for you.
Hey Jesse for example I draw in mainline and force size one section of it using edit equipment. Then I use mimic equipment to make the rest of the ML take on the same size as the source. It used to be that I could select the source then click on another section and then swipe the rest of it and it would all be the same size. As an example I am doing an as built showing just the ML and valves so it's not a full design. I want to make all the pipe a particular size so it shows in the legend proper. I can make a video if needed to elaborate.
Hey Charles,

If you are drafting the mainline in the first place and want it to only list as one size, you should adjust your Project Pipe Data to match that. For example, if you are drafting a 2" mainline for your asbuilt, remove all sizes other than 2" from the mainline class you are placing. Then, there is no need to adjust anything; you already placed a 2" mainline. Just add pipe labels where you want to.

If you do not see all sections of the mainline swap after completing the window portion of the Mimic Equipment command, that is because the mainline you have placed varies in its properties and data, either in size, class, or both.

I would recommend doing a simple test off to the side to understand this better. Place three legs of mainline. Use Edit Equipment to change their pipe sizes to three different sizes. Then, use Mimic Equipment from one size to another, and then window across all three. You will see the functionality work as described in my first post.

As always, if you think you are experiencing something different, open a Support Ticket and send in your drawings. We'd love to take a look.

Have a good weekend!
