While I understand this might be a large and potentially unfeasible undertaking, I would like to propose an idea that could greatly enhance the functionality of the plant management system. Currently, I know the software integrates with manufacturers like Rainbird and Hunter for irrigation management, which is incredibly useful. I wonder if similar integration could be explored with local nurseries and plant material availability.

Specifically, the idea would be to allow users to input a project’s zip code within the plant manager, which would then highlight or indicate plant species available at nurseries within a defined radius of the project location. This could be a partnership with local nurseries, where their inventory data is integrated into the system, enabling more efficient sourcing of plants.

I recognize that organizing this kind of data across various nurseries could be a logistical challenge, and it may involve complexities such as data accuracy and partnerships with local suppliers. However, if this could be achieved, it would provide tremendous value.

Patrick,

We are actually already working on this, as one of our major projects. The manufacturers section of the web site is being expanded to also include nurseries and seed suppliers. Look for some further announcements or webinars by mid year.
