Plant Populating Tool With Procedural Parameters

Have you guys created or considered creating a tool that can help landscape architects quickly create procedural buffers? I’d love for a tool that could instantly populate buffers for large sites using adjustable parameters.

My current method typically involves planting a 100’ section that meets UDO requirements and then copying and pasting it around the property line. This process is often slow because you usually have to customize property corners, save critical root zones, coordinate with grading, change buffer widths, exclude intersections, and verify plant quantities meet code by manually adding species in the plant schedule. If you have ideas on how to make this process more seamless I’m all ears! I’d be glad to give more feedback if you decide to pursue a tool like this.

Ryan,

We've got a few ideas on the radar still, but right now you have a few options that'll be really handy:

Using plant mixes where you can instead of symbols.

Creating a Mix of Seeds or Plant Species (I'm updating the video in this section in the next few weeks - stay tuned)

Copy around the symbols and labels using XCOPY and XCORO to maintain the data link and save time.
