Since we're on the subject of Archiving projects, we too have multiple office locations and different server installs under the same LFX support agreement. This is a result of combining offices into a single unit. While our project LFX files are read from the same LandFX cloud ties to our service support number, when we back up, the file is saved to the local server install. This results in the backups being stored on various servers with different dates. For instance, when a user is updating their LandFX, they are prompted to backup projects. If answered yes, the files are backed up to the server install that LandFX is installed on for that individual user. So, with four different server installs, the LFX files are more than likely backed up in four different locations. But when the project is restored, it only allows the file to come from the local server. There is , in theory, a 25% chance (1 of 4 servers) that this is the most current version. Using this file now can change (revert) all of the current drawings to match the old backed up file. Not the one that was the most current that could be on a different server.
While I had advocated for a single install, we have determined through testing that it takes longer to operate LandFX from a distance. I could go on and on about this, but for this discussion, it's not worth it.
Questions:
1. Will moving to AutoCAD's ACC, would we be able to use it as a server and have all of our users point to a single install on the ACC cloud?
2. How would you recommend that if we are restoring a file that the most current file is actually restored?
3. How can we select multiple files (but not all files) to back up?
4. Is there a way within LandFX to set up where the backups go (Using Server ID's (IP addresses?), not using a drive letter since the corporate has set the drive ID's and for LandFX they are the same unless we remap).
BONUS QUESTION:
Is there a way to filter by partial project numbers yet? We sometimes add a suffix to a PM to identify which office/server the project is pointing to.
Thanks in advance.
