The Land F/X Place Shrub tool in SketchUp allows you to add shrubs to your project and place them in your design.
Land F/X Place Shrub Tool Overview
Before adding or placing shrubs, you'll need to open a new or existing Land F/X project. You can create a new project in SketchUp, or open an existing project, using our Projects Tool.
Open the Place Shrub tool:
LandFX toolbar, Place Shrub button
Land-FX menu, Place Shrub option
The Land F/X Place Shrubs dialog box will open.
Note: If you haven't yet placed a shrub, this dialog box will be blank when it first opens.
Adding New Shrubs to Your Project
To add a new shrub to your project, click New and follow our steps to add plants to your Land F/X project in SketchUp.
After you've added a shrub, it will appear in the Land F/X Place Shrub dialog box.
Shrubs will appear in alphabetical order, rather than in the order in which you selected them.
Before you can place a plant in your design, you'll need to assigning it with a symbol using our Plant Info tool.
Placing Shrubs in Your Design
Once you've added a shrub to your project, you can place it in your design.
Access the Place Shrub tool as described above.
The Land F/X Place Shrubs dialog box will open.
To begin placing a specific type of shrub, click the shrub's symbol in the dialog box.
In our example, we'll place the shrub Aloe marlothii.
Drag the cursor into your design.
The symbol of the shrub you selected (example: Aloe marlothii) will appear wherever you drag the cursor.
Click to place the shrub. Keep clicking to continue placing additional shrubs.
You can also use SketchUp tools such as Move to manipulate existing shrubs in your design.
