Autodesk Privacy Statement Keeps Popping Up After It's Been Accepted

    Updated on: August 28, 2025

    Issue

The Autodesk Privacy Statement dialog box pops up every time you launch AutoCAD or F/X CAD, even after you've clicked I agree.

    Autodesk Privacy Statement Dialog Box

    Cause

An issue with your user settings is preventing this dialog box from closing.

    Solution

    1. Close and quit all Autodesk applications.

    2. Navigate to the folder C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Adlm (where Username is your actual computer username).

Note: You'll need to have hidden files and folders enabled to be able to see and navigate to this folder.

    3. Rename the file AdlmUserSettings.xml file, giving it the name AdlmUserSettings.xml.old.

Rename the file AdlmUserSettings.xml to AdlmUserSettings.xml.old

If the privacy statement dialog box still pops up when you open CAD at this point, check the permissions on the folder C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Autodesk and verify that the current user and group accounts are designated as having Full control of that folder.
