Hi,

Is there a way to generate a Sheet Index Legend that does not sort the sheet list alphabetically? I'm working on the drawing index for a multidisciplinary project and would like to not have the sheets automatically sorted. I can certainly work around this by exploding the schedule, but I wanted to see if there was already something built in that would allow this.

Thanks.
Clay,

As mentioned in the accepted Solution above, we implemented sheet prefix ordering.
You do *not* want to click Move Up and Move Down hundreds of times for every project.
Instead, just set LS to order above LP in all projects.

Is this still in process? A "move up" "move down" button would be helpful.

Another request that I would like would to be able to group sheets in the index. Having each sheet on its own line takes up a lot of real estate on an already full page, especially when you have 50+ sheets.

Instead of having:
SHEET DESCRIPTION
LS-101 LAYOUT PLAN
LS-102 LAYOUT PLAN
LS-103 LAYOUT PLAN
LS-104 LAYOUT PLAN
LS-105 LAYOUT PLAN
LP-201 PLANTING PLAN
LP-202 PLANTING PLAN
LP-203 PLANTING PLAN

Have:
SHEET DESCRIPTION
LS-101 - LS-105 LAYOUT PLAN
LP-201 - LP-203 PLANTING PLAN

I am wondering if there is still a demand for custom ordering of sheets? That would be really handy, it's convenient when all my schedules are automated. Especially for a monster interdisciplinary sheet index...Thanks!

Thanks. That's a much smarter workaround than I had in mind. I appreciate the tip.
The workaround for now is to send the legend to Excel, and resort it there.

We have a pending wishlist item to allow custom ordering of the sheets.
